Columbia River Knife and Tool's 2012 Ringed Razel Chisel and Bellied Razor Edge Blade

Columbia River Knife and Tool's 2012 Ringed Razel Chisel and Bellied Razor Edge Blade Review

I give 4 out of 5 only because it is not made with Paul Bos heat treated S30V steel. However considering the price difference between the CRKT and the actual Graham Bros. razel this is a bargain. I have owned my CRKT ringed razel for about a month and have used it for varied reasons from prying staples off a barbed wire fence post to slicing through a block of smoked cheddar. I work in heavy construction, (bulldozers, etc.), and I will find many uses for this knife over the years. There are other reviews where some people bitch about the finish of the handle and the kydex sheath. If you are using this as an every day tool instead of staring, and petting it like an attention depraved psycho, then you won't care about the finish. The kydex sheath works like it should but I will eventualy get a leather one. All in all, it's a handy knife. Recomended.

Multi-tools have been widely used all over the world as a means of survival at times when you do not have the right tool to use in a given situation. Columbia River Knife and Tool 9080P Multi-Tool Lumabiner Knife, Dusty Rose

Columbia River Knife and Tool 9080P Multi-Tool Lumabiner Knife, Dusty Rose Review

Firstly the design is pretty bad. Not only aesthetically. You need a huge key ring to put your keys on your belt, to clear the bulky rear. And the locking carbiner, doesn't really lock; If you tap it a couple times while locked it will open. Also, the knife is difficult to open with one hand, and sometimes opens on it's own (Would to see a similar product using the Van Hoy locking system).

That said, this combines the most important features for me in a utility knife: knife, LED light, carbiner to attach keys to belt. I like to have a small knife on my keychain, and this circumvents the extra bulk it would add by taking place of the lumbiner I have.

I first bought it in silver, thinking the paint would just come off anyway, and I wanted to draw as little attention to the badly design object. Once I got it though, I realized I should get it darker, silver just looked wrong. So I got grey, and the paint is coming off, but, serendipitously, that actually seems to improve the looks, as it detracts from the (failed) attempt at looking futuristic.

All in all, pleased.
