I'm a big fan of flywheel technology, and happened to run across some heavy clutch plates that I managed to pull apart (b*%ch of a time doing it) but got er done. They just so happened to fit perfectly on some hard drive spindles and really halls a*$ when spun with the Dewalt Drill at 2000rpm. Never met a Dewalt product I didn't like. But anyway, my plan is to mount some magnets to them and see what I can get out of them by hooking them up to a hydro turbine I have been working on that's portable and sits in the tub in an apartment and produce emergency backup power for free (since I don't pay for water) Ill keep you updated as it progresses. Ive been seeing large format flywheel ups generators hooked to Cummings inline 12 motors. These flywheels have one large one and one smaller on the inside that spins at an even higher rpm then the outer shell. These things are massive, many many tons each.
